Christmas 2012

Christmas 2012

We've been attacked by nasty viruses around here,
Trying to steal our Christmas cheer!
Pink eye, flu, tonsillitis, and strep throat- they've all tried to interfere.
Well, okay, they DID interfere,
But we just hope and hope that they never reappear!
We'll continue to persevere,
Despite the current bad atmosphere.
Of this, we are very sincere,
Because Christmas comes just once a year.

Cohen and I were cooped up in the house most of Christmas this year, and it's been the weirdest Christmas ever.  Not being with our family absolutely was the pits, but that's just the way it is sometimes.  Michael was working nights, so it was all around just abnormal.  We had a good time having one-on-one Christmases with everyone, though.  Here's a few pictures.

Superwomen

As I lay down with Cohen tonight, I tried to keep myself awake.  This is what I came up with.  (Background- Our kids (students) have been unusually sick these past couple of weeks.  It's truly been unbelievable.)  And P.S. I know I'm not a poet.

Superpowers

We've almost made it 'til Christmas break-

Without one virus did we take.

You ask me, “HOW?”

I'll tell you now.

We wiped, we Cloroxed, we 409ed the place down,

And when they approached us with a frown,

We calmly said, “Oh dear, you look a little blue,-

You must hurry home and take some Tamiflu.”

“WHAT ABOUT MY TESTS?” they cried.

“You just go home and get some rest.

You see, these germs, they are like glue- they stick and stick,

Like mortar and brick.”

Yes, we've dodged several bullets over the past couple of weeks,

but we shall remain humble and meek.

For we do not want to become weak.

We made a gingerbread train!  Okay, to be honest, I tried to make it without any luck, so Michael made it and I helped decorate.  And Cohen made railroad tracks.

Cohen loves to "hunt."  Here's my little redneck hunter/cowboy.

I heard him whispering to himself last night while he was trying to go to sleep, "I'm going to kill that buck yesterday. Pow pow! Pow pow!" (Yesterday is his new word he loves to tag onto all of his sentences.  Most of the time it makes sense, but no so much this time, haha!)

Santa Visit 2012

December 1, 2012

We went to see Santa last night.  Cohen was all about him from a distance- even gave him high five.  He told him he wanted a gun.  Then he sat in his lap.  That didn't go too well. But afterwards, he told me several times how "purty" Santa is.  Love him.

But this went way better than the Easter Bunny visit!

And today we worked on our gingerbread train.  Cohen was more interested in riding his 4-wheeler and "hunting for a buck" than helping out, but at least I got some pictures that looked like he was interested.

It was just another day!
